I went back out to the AB ramp for the fence, not the box, I want that on the record before anybody tries to tell me later I went back on what I said. The street-log pages are still up, the intersection box, the scratch, all of it, I said that thread was done and it is done, Im not adding to it. This is a different one.
Behind the fence at the AB ramp, past where the ring-mowed grass stops and the ground goes back to regular scrub, theres a second box mounted to a pole about forty feet off the guardrail line. Same casing. Same light gray paint, the kind that goes chalky in the sun instead of peeling. Same mounting height, I measured against my own shoulder both times because I dont carry a tape measure in the car and I should, thats going in the trunk this week. Three bolts on the access panel, same pattern as the intersection box, not four like a standard utility company would spec, three, offset, I photographed the panel straight on and at an angle to get the offset documented properly.
The stencil on the front is worn almost all the way off on the intersection box, you can just make out part of a letter if the light is right, I never could get a clean read on it and I said as much back in March. This one is worn the exact same amount. Not close. The exact same amount, same corner faded first, same direction of wear like somethings been brushing past it from the same side for the same number of years. Two boxes forty minutes apart by road that have aged identically dont happen by weather, weather isnt that precise, weather doesnt pick a corner.
I know how this reads. Somebodys going to email me about coincidence again, somebody always does, and no. Two boxes matching down to the bolt count and the wear pattern is not a coincidence, its a spec, somebody built these to the same print and installed them along the same corridor and I am now looking at this as a corridor and not two separate locations, which changes the count. It was one box. Then it was two. I keep saying Im done with a thread and then the thread finds a twin standing behind a different fence forty minutes down the same road and what am I supposed to do, not write it down.
Im not going back to the first box. Im not saying I wont drive the rest of that corridor and see if theres a third.

I mapped the two camera fields of view against each other. The crosswalk camera covers the intersection from the north side. The second camera covers the block from the second floor, east aspect. There is an overlap zone -- approximately a fifteen-meter section that falls within both fields of view, in theory, but that both cameras lose during their respective gaps.
The overlap zone is centered on a utility access point: a junction box mounted to the pole at the intersection, the kind used for traffic signal timing and, in some configurations, for communications infrastructure. I cannot confirm what that box is used for in this installation. I can confirm it exists, that it is in the overlap zone, and that both cameras lose their feed when something happens at the time associated with that zone.
I photographed the box from three angles on two different days. The box has markings consistent with telecommunications infrastructure rather than traffic management alone. On the second day it had a small scratch on the upper-left corner that was not there on the first day. The scratch is fresh. The paint is light-colored and the scratch shows the bare metal below. Something contacted that box between my two visits.
