I went back out to the block from the name research, the one I said I would not talk about until I had it confirmed, and I still dont have it confirmed, not the way I want it confirmed, so this is not that post, I want that clear up front before anybody reads past this line expecting the other thing. What this is: two exits down the same corridor, a different building. Institutional. The kind of lot that gets landscaped on a maintenance schedule, and I have written about maintenance schedules before, a schedule that tight is not the county doing the county a favor, I wont relitigate the whole argument here, just the short version. Backed into a space close to the entrance, or close enough, I did not pace it off, was a truck.

People are going to read truck and go straight to the white one. I already know. I get the emails. this is not that. Different truck, black, crew cab, and it was backed in nose out the exact way the truck on the route pattern backs in, every time, never pulled through, which I documented on the exit ramp entry and have not stopped thinking about since. The whole thing was clean. Not clean like it just got a wash, clean like it doesnt sit outside all day breathing dust the way everything else in that lot did, glass and paint and chrome wheels all throwing the flash back at me the same way, uniform, nothing dulled anywhere on it. Somebody keeps that truck the way you keep a thing you might need to move on short notice, which is its own kind of tell if you have looked at enough vehicles that are not maintained for any reason at all. I tried for the plate. Couldnt get it. hitch was in the way, its always something in the way lately, and I have stopped being surprised by that specifically and I dont love that about myself.

Anyway. The AC in the car started clicking the same way the fridge clicked in March right before it quit for good, and I keep saying I will call somebody about it and then I dont call anybody, which if I'm honest is its own kind of pattern, one I dont especially want to look at directly today.

The name from the research two pages back is still not confirmed, I am not pretending otherwise. But a truck backed in nose out at an institutional lot two exits down the same corridor is not nothing on its own, and Ive been wrong about plenty on this site, said so plenty of times, but never once wrong about a pattern after the third count, and this makes three if the exit ramp truck counts, which it does. Went out there Tuesday. no, Wednesday, the trash truck was already out and that only happens Wednesday now. Wednesday then. Going back, dont know which day yet, the route keeps changing anyway so it might not matter which one I pick.
